Cultural Sustainability

Music and Congress Centre (MUK)

Since 2019, MUK.NEUE.HORIZONTE. has been the umbrella brand for a series of programmes aimed at discovering hidden talent and promoting their careers. Audiences can experience the stars of tomorrow today. Highly talented musicians can show off their skills and present selected programmes of their classical repertoire and themed concerts spanning different genres. These themed concerts address socially relevant issues, and by linking presentations and musical interpretations, they facilitate new, sensory experiences. One project constitutes climate concerts staged in collaboration with the climate network Klima pro Lübeck (Climate for Lübeck). There audiences were able to experience the climate researcher Prof. Mojib Latif and the research explorer Arved Fuchs but the Orchestra of Change initiative consisting of musicians from the Philharmonic Orchestra also participated in the programmes.

The Music and Congress Centre (MuK) is the largest event centre in Schleswig-Holstein. For over a decade, this music and event centre has attached great importance to ecological, sustainable conduct. These principles are deeply embedded in the company’s mission statement. Besides its environmental responsibility, the MuK also plays an active role on the social and cultural stage. It offers trainee places, supports school projects such as Plant for the Planet and MUNOL, collaborates with Kulturtafel Lübeck and it is setting the tone both socially and culturally with its own MUK New Horizons series.
